The Nordenskjöld Glacier lies at the head of Cumberland East Bay, on the north coast of South Georgia. Its leading edge has retreated about 1.5km in the last 80 years, and 1 km of that in the last 10 years. Much of its surface is grey with rock and dust from scree slopes on the mountains it flows past.
