One of a set of four etchings of the islands making up a small archipelago near Tristan da Cunha, in the South Atlantic. The circular format, with holes looking a bit like old reel-to-reel tapes, results from them being etched on copper discs salvaged from a scrap metal bin - I have no idea what they came from. The plates still had lines scribed in them, marking out the holes to be drilled, along with scratches and scuff marks - I left all these in to give a slight air of decay, like old film. These have always appeared to me a little like views through a ship’s port hole.
