The title refers to the wave-like clouds running across the middle - KH waves: Kelvin-Helmholtz waves, are exactly what they look like, waves in the stable layer that caps the stratiform clouds, generated by the shear of faster winds above. One of several etchings based on sketches made from the Swedish icebreaker Oden while waiting for the pilot to guide us in to Longyearbyen.
